Hello and with Wonderful news I am here to announce the SNK Marathon will be taking place Thursday August 21st at 4:00pm and it will end Friday August 22nd at 4:00pm. We decided we'd do this Tuesday, we had the marathon planned, but weren't sure when we'd do it..this date was open and we're going for it. : ) Here is the video feed. We are helping raise money for our friend Chris Walker..more info on that below.

Video chat rooms at Ustream

We are helping raise more money for Chris Walker and Family. The Resident Evil Marathon raised $250+. We are doing this 24 hour Mini-Marathon to help raise more money and also as a lead in marathon for the 360 Marathon that will begin Friday at 4:00pm. We plan on playing/ playing through the 16 games on the SNK Arcade Classics Collection. An All SNK/Neo Geo Marathon. The Chipin.com Widget is Below. Money goes straight to Chris' Paypal.

Chris Walker, a friend of mine and one of the many I’ve met over the past 3 years, his family’s house burned down over July 4th weekend. They lost everything. After I heard this horrible news I decided to change my marathon’s goal to raise money for him and his family. I set up a chipin.com widget that sends money directly to his Paypal account.

Here is Chris’ blog post about the whole horrible event.

“”For All Who Were wondering: So, I have gotten so many emails/messages asking about the fire but I don’t have a laptop anymore cause it burned, so finding time to respond to everyone is next to impossible. So here is one general response to everyone. On the 4th of July, we (my brother, my sisters, a friend and I) returned to our house from my grandmother’s house after our cookout to find the house was on fire. The yard was full of smoke and we could see smoke coming from the seam’s of the house. Motivated to save the enormous amount of animals we had, my brother and I attempted to enter the house. It was crazy hot and we could see funnels of smoke. The heat was a very good deterrent from us going in but we tried to brave it up to the point that we heard the roof crack. For fear of our lives we decided against entering. I called 911 and got transferred to 7 different fire dept before I got mine, then the lady who answerd the phone wanted to play 20questions before she dispatched the fire trucks. Twenty min later the 1st truck arrives. Before they can even begin spraying the house the tank that holds the water broke and all the water fekk on the ground. They called another truck, that truck took 15min to get there and 5min to get ready once they got there… By the time they started spraying there was almost no house left to save. Just in animals, we lost 17 snakes – 1 guinea pig – 2 dogs – 4 rats – a very expensive 60gal salt water fish tank – 2 60gal fresh water fish tanks. I personally lost almost 5k in electronics; my laptop – printer – kodal digital camera – sony digital camera – special edition xbox 360 – regular xbox – bass guitar – amplifier - tv – dvd’s - and more…… Anyways, the reason for the fire is that some wires in the kitchen were installed wrong and heated up to 2,800° which cought the walls on fire… So, after the fire we lived with my grandma for two days and then redcross put us up in a motel for 3days (only 3 cause they said my dad makes to much – I think they missed the point that our house burned down – jerks) and my dad payed for an extra 8days. All 5 of us living in that tiny hotle room deffinetly stressed us all out, but thank God we found a place to rent. We moved in 4 days ago, and we don’t really have stuff but we are all ok… our friends have been more then helpfulll – and may I say, I don’t know how people could not want friends. My friends have been so great before and especially after the fire – to a point of which I probably don’t deserve… Thanks guys…. Special thanks to : Joanna T , Deian , Leah , Joe , Lacie , Stephie , Kellen , Robert , Robert’s – Help the Walkers fund , Gantt , and all those who called, wrote, prayed, or sent stuff. ~Chris”
