Parasite Eve 3 to PSP! (The Third Birthday)

So yeah, the new Parasite Eve game is coming to PSP, also known as Parasite Eve: The Third Birthday. The only information revealed is trailer that shows Aya Brea in a wedding dress in a church, some monster guy thingy jumps in, and she starts shooting at him, uh yeah. I don't think the trailer is avalible to the public so that's basically what people are writing about it. And it was originally only going to be for cellphones, but now it's for the PSP, (Square-Enix has been doing this to some of their cellphone games).

I don't remember but I think it might be some parallel universe thing going on, if events did or didn't happen. What I'm most curious about though is, will the game be like Parasite Eve 1 or Parasite Eve 2? Personally, I have played quite far in Parasite Eve 1 and I have completed Parasite Eve 2, and I much prefer the stuff in Parasite Eve 2, it's like Resident Evil combat meets Devil May Cry with upgrades and secret stuff. I really like it, the power in the weapons and feel was generally good in Parasite Eve 2, you never had enough cash to buy everything you wanted either, and it just felt like a solid action game. Kinda like how the action is in RE4, but way before it's time. And harder. :P

I really do hope that PE3 is some evolution of the combat system in PE2.

What do you guys think? Or want out of the third game?

Parasite Eve is one of those games that i never completed due to overhype and dissapointment.

When I bought it in the store the sales rep assured me that it had voices in the game, which i really wanted because at the time it looked much more realistic than other RPGs. so when I plugged it in and I got text.................

Plus I think I had the japanese version.

...Huh. You must have played RE4 a lot more or something, I found it quite a bit harder than PE2. Anyway, I've been waiting for a new PE game for quite a long time, but, I have a bad feeling about this game, especially since it started out as a mobile phone project. My luck, it will have a 'brand new', 'exciting', 'non-linear' battle system that revolves around using $#@@^%$ CARDS to attack. It'll happen, I'm calling it now, and when it does, I'm going to find the developers and immolate their shoes. On the plus side, if they decide to clone the RE movement mechanics again, at least we'll get RE4's system. w00t. No more pivoting! No more pivoting! No more ... yeah. I hated that.

Haha, card system would totally suck. I wouldn't mind a mix between RE4 styled of gameplay and lockon. And have stats play into how well you hit on distance, etc.

Oh yeah, well, I guess I'm just an FPS and action game nerd, I find that most action games today don't give me enough challange. But PE2, dang! It was kinda hard. I think I even got stuck two times in the game, but then when I played it kinda recently, I knew where stuff, items and goodies where so I was able to complete it with quite an overstock of healing stuff and ammunition. :) But I loved it still!

But yeah, I do hope that his game turns out to be something good. Despite being a cellphone project at first.

personally i think challenge is overrated. i like a healthy dose of it if it's not frustrating but i'll take fun over challenge anyday.

It is my personal opinion that there should be a mandate that forces all game developers include custom button mapping and a hard mode in their games. It is impossible to describe the hatred that seeps from my soul when I play a game that has a HORRIBLE button setup or is too easy. Twilight Princess is a good example of a game that suffers from it's sub-par difficulty; only maybe three bosses killed me the first time I played through, and I loathe the game for that. If it had an unlockable hard mode, we could have been friends, but nooooooooooooo, so, now it sits alone in the back of my dresser, and, I don't really miss it. I agree with the frustrating thing, though, especially if the difficulty has anything to do with the game's camera. (Gex 2 >_<)
