How about a few game review suggestions.
The first is EVO evolution for the Snes. With the recent Spore game for the PC, I thought it would be nice to show one of the original games which allowed you to eat prey, gain points, and add/subtract parts to help you fulfill the task of beating levels/objectives. The neat part was that each world was a new style of organism to create with its own associated parts and abilities, as you start out as a fish and work your way through time to early man. It was a creative game, and although it had it's short comings, it still was pretty outside the box for its time, and pretty similar to Spore in its groundbreaking creativity.
The Next is Monster Rancher (Mostly number 2 for the playstation, though 4 was pretty decent for the playstation 2). The idea was that you could pop in a music CD or playstation game, and create a unique monster from it. It was pretty neat that you could raise, train and fight these monsters...not to mention breed them together to make different species of monsters. As you progressed through the game you could go on quests that allowed you to unlock secret monsters (CD permitting), or give you some unique armour that would help you in battle. Rich storyline and spot on real time battling. Would be very awesome for a more expanded version with online battling capabilities to be created. It would make for a very creative online fighter.
Lastly, the Harvest moon series. From SNES all the way to the newest DS versions. Pretty solid franchise if you ask me...good for console and handheld allowing hours of fun and planning. Hell, it’s a game that my fiance loves...and she isn't much of a hardcore gamer. It would be nice to see a franchise follower in the same great way that Retroware followed Mortal Combat...from Snes to now.
And by the way, thanks for the great video for Chrono Trigger. I felt you guys truly captured the joy which that game brought...without even having to go into individual characters and their storylines. Simply awesome...it's great to see a web site that show's properly how games/characters can become as close to a persons heart as a book/movie/sitcom can...perhaps even more so. Thanks.
