Re: Arcades in CT

I forgot which game it was but there is a Nintendo arcade game at that Trumbull mall that allows you to plug in your N64 memory pak -- I just like the idea of showing up with my 13 year old memory pak and playing a game.

Re: Arcades in CT

That would be NFL Blitz 2000. You could make your own plays on the home version and use them in the arcade version.

I tried it out and it worked pretty good. The problem was you had to pry the cover open to get your card in there. And I've seen at some places, kids shoved gum into the slot so you can't even use it.

Re: Arcades in CT

Gross, I think it was the neo geo arcade machine that was the first machine that allowed you to bring your home console stuff to the arcade.  When we were in Vegas for CGE, Circus Circus's arcade had the Fzero arcade machine which was the first time I have ever seen it.  Apparently if you use your gamecube memory card on there you unlock exclusive vehicles that it had on your gamecube version.  Funny thing is though is you can use the action replay for the gamecube to unlock them as well.  Wasn't there another game that let you use the N64 memory card in the arcade to bring over saves to the arcade machine?  I semi want to say killer instinct 2 but I don't think so.

Re: Arcades in CT
Here's all of the games with hook ups that I can think of off the top of my head. NFL Blitz - N64 Cards for home made plays F-Zero GX - GameCube (I used it, and nothing happened) DDR- PS1 Memory Card (Saves scores, think unlocks songs) Marvel vs Capcom 2 Japanese version - Used the Dreamcast VMU to unlock extra characters, taken out of the US version Tekken 5- Ports for PS1/2 Controllers Neo-Geo MVS- Uses Memory Cards that also work with the AES KI 2 didn't have a memory card slot, would have been cool though.

The best place to check for arcades is still DDRFreak's arcade locator. If there's a place that has a DDR machine, you'll find it on there. The thing that sucks is, if the place doesn't have DDR it won't be listed. But it's still a good place to go and they keep it updated.

It's not always current, but if you're looking for arcades, go here...

If you're talking about the FYE at the Trubull Mall I was literally there last week -- I had never seen it before and while picking up curtains for my girlfriend, I stumbled upon it.  I hate curtains.  It felt like I walked into 1992 again.  There was actually an arcade in a mall in Connecticut!

That arcade is decent (especially nowadays).  Last time I was there, they had one of those multi-game machines with dozens of classics.  It was actually a cocktail unit.  Should still be there.

Re: Arcades in CT

Gerard and I were thinking about checking out Tokyo Game Action, it's in Winchendon, Mass so it might not be in Conneticut but I don't think it's that far of a drive from what he told me.

The place is pretty much a Japanese arcade but in America. They focus on music and fighting games and have a classic game or two. I like it that they have their games in "Candy" cabs, so you can sit down and have a whole screen to yourslef instead of being scrunched next to somebody else.

Their site is www.tokyogameaction.com

If we do go up there, it might be in mid August, so if anybody would like to make this into a trip, let us know.
