Great review! love it when you review Genesis/TG-16 games. If I can request I wan't to request more of those. :D
I think these two systems are kind of underrated and doesn't get enough attention, I BELIEVE IN YOU H-NERD!

I never really played RKA myself (unless we count an emulator... WICH WE DON'T!) and this review want's me to get a hold of it a lot more than before

My top three HVGN:
Splatterhouse Series
Rocket Knight Adventures
Journey to silius

P.S. Love the little "don't be negative bit" from the nerd's movie review...
Oooops... was that supposed to be a secret?

Re: HVGN: Rocket Knight Adventures

Huh! I never knews this existed. I thought Sparkster was the only Sparkster game! Man, this looks really nice. And despite being a guy who grew up with the Megadrive (or Genesis), I never played these games, mainly because I never saw or heard of 'em. If I did, I would have bought them in a instant.
And man you are faaaast Derek! Nice to see you pump out content so quickly and I just love that you always pick up cool games that are forgotten or deserve more attention. Keep it up. Love your work!

Arr? Yarr!

Re: HVGN: Rocket Knight Adventures

thanks guys!  the plan is keep the videos coming as fast as I can.  hopefully that means no more 4 month down time between videos!  also, since you're all here at the retroware nation, i'll let you in on a little secret: the hvgn's 1 year anniversary is coming up soon, and I've got a little something planned for ya.  it'll be nice filler between this and the next review.

oh and i always appreciate fan art!  Thanks RCoehrs!!

stop that

Re: HVGN: Rocket Knight Adventures

Whoooooooo, awesome review.  My 2 cents on Sparkster, SNES version was ZOMG with graphics and gameplay, Genesis was escentally more like Rocket Knight 2 with some new features.  They are both worthy to own (just be prepaired to spend some cash to get either of them)

Great video. I loved the new intro. I played RKA a long time ago, but couldn't ge tinto it...but I may give another chance.

I have played Awesome Possum and you are right, it does suck. So don't bother playing it

I really liked the intro setup and the intro music is sweet. With that intro you really differenciate yourself even more from the AVGN, although I'm sure the 'holy crusaders' will still find something.... It looks professional en gives a good idea of what the show's about, great work!

Re: HVGN: Rocket Knight Adventures

The Sparkster games are pretty bad.  I take that back.. they are no where near as polished and as fun as Rocket Knight Adventures.  It has large sprites, so you don't see as much on screen.  They levels much more repetive, and the boss fights are not as cool.

RKA is probably one of my favorite genesis games, along with Zombies Ate My Neighbors and Shinning Force 2.  The one thing I hated about this game was that the last few levels could only be played on the harder difficulties.   Though I would say it made me a better gamer since it forces you to be much more careful, and like the contra games, memorize basically the whole game.

I'm glad to see someone absolutly loves this under rated game.  It really didn't get its moment in the spotlight.

The new intro is sweet, and like halfblindgamer says, it helps you differenciate yourself even further from the angry one. and that's great, cause more people need to understand that you're not a clone or a ripoff, that you're your own thing.
(and between you and me, I think you're better than the other one)

The Intro is Pretty Cool, but just change the simple yellow font for some bold whiye fonts if you want, and a logo, maybe one of your own ^^
