I think no matter where you put it if it has the Retroware logo at the begining people will find the site.

I first saw the HVGN on some random site and I saw one episode. I managed to track the rest down and now I visit the site quite frequently.

I think the main thing is to get the word out. The more people that know about the show the more likely they are to come back and see more. :)

Yes, in fact, I think almost all of us discovered Screwattack thanks to the Nerd videos, following the reference of that site at the beginning of each episode...

But dont you have the feeling that you are using bad their forums posting there your episodes? I mean since we are in RWTV... I mean, if we want to be one Screwattack, we shouldnt use their site as advertising tool for ours...

That's why I dont know what to do :P...

I don't see it that way. First off I link to the video on Retroware when I post it. Plus I run a bumper at the beginning of the video to let people know where it's from. The SA community is a large part of my viewership and I wouldn't want to ignore that. Also I am not in competition with SA because there is enough room for everyone. I have talked to Tom and Craig and they have been very nice and polite to me. I will never be anti Screw Attack because I think they make great shows and we make great shows too. They may be thematically different, but they are all good.

Going forward I know people are going to try and make it us versus them, but that is simply not the case. So let's stop that talk here. I post on both boards because I want to reach out to the fans and I have gotten a great reaction from it so I will continue to do so. I think most people that like SA's stuff would also enjoy ours, so why not invite them over to check out our stuff?

Plus Craig and Tom have watched the show and told me they like it. Also they featured one of my videos on Submission Sunday, so I don't think they feel like I am using their boards for some nefarious means.

Uhm, I think you get me wrong because my poor english.

I didnt say we must be against SA (what's the meaning of that?) and the reason I stop posting my episodes there is only for being polite, to have good manners (sorry, again, my english barrier! :P) I mean, since I join this community, I see that posting Destroy the Humanoid videos with the RWTV "label" there as a... MMmm... (let me check online dictionary...) to got a cheeck? Its not about nefarious means, I know that posting our episodes there isnt gonna harm SA, is just that I feel better with myself if I dont post them there...

Of course I dont have any problem with the guys of SA. I dont know them, and we never crossed any word by mail... in fact, if you check my post in their forums, I give them my eternal gratitude...

Of course everyone is free to do whatever he wants with his work... Im not preaching anybody for continue posting videos in SA forums... This is what I (YO) gonna do, because I think it's better for RWTV and to follow my way of thinking... Im a almost-mature spaniard, and you know what? We are weird in this subjects... You should see what weird things happens in spanish forums for similar reasons, youll be amazed! :)

Im not with flare-wars at all. They are destructive, and produce nothing... So I dont believe in that kind of propaganda...

And yes, I believe in the power of the exclusive content! :) I dont think that DTH had more that 100 followers, but if I can bring them all here, Ill be satisfied :)

Again, sorry if my english caused some misunderstood, I hope you guys have patience with me! :)

EDIT - OK, I FIND THE PROBLEM! :D

"But dont you have the feeling that you are using bad their forums posting there your episodes?"

Maybe with that setence you thinked that Im referring personally to you... Well, I have the flaw of talking english the same way I talk spanish... :P

I didnt referring to you directly. When we talk spanish, that kind of sentences is like when you say "Dont you smell that?" I mean, with the "That you are using" I referred in a general manner, not BEN, if not anybody who post episodes there and "belongs" to other major webpage as RWTV...

Maybe Im taking  too serious that thing of belonging to RetrowareTV, but I swear that I see here a very high potential, so that's why I insist that much in this "corporative" manners... I know that I only do an amateur show for freaks, but, I dont know, maybe is just I take some things too seriously :)

Anyway, if I offended you in any way, please accept my apologies, and think I didnt did it in purpose. Is just my ignorance about english :P

Re: Should we post complete episodes in Youtube and others Forums?

First things first, I was never offended.

I just wanted to state a difference of opinion. You are entitled to do whatever you want with your work and I will support that. If you don't want to post it other places that is your choice.

For me personally I feel like just talking about it on this site is very inside baseball. Everyone here already knows about it and hopefully likes it. I want to spread the word about Retroware TV to people that are maybe not as farmiliar with it.

I think it's a cutural difference but in any even let's agree to disagree and get back to working on your show  lol

I can't wait to see the new episode.

Uhm, I was VERY tempted to release it this night with subtitles only... But I must satisfy my followers (hahaha!), so Ill wait until Mat send me all the voice recordings... Anyway, you can see the spanish version of the Episode 4 in my Vimeo's account, but I think it would spoil all the fun...

Re: Should we post complete episodes in Youtube and others Forums?

Hi!

This is a question for John and Lance...

Do you guys think its a bad idea if I ask you to release the complete episode of DTH (the fourth and next ones) by youtube, yes, but only under YOUR ACCOUNT? I could use mine to put the trailers only, and you should release the full episode as an exclusive

Take it as a donation, as a "phisical" contribution to the show... As the creator of DTH, I prefer that your hundreds (they are more than 200) subscribers watch my show, better than the 30 or 40 I have, and for the good of RWTV, it could attrac the attention of the public just with the simple question "Ey, what more do you have in your Webpage guys?)

That way I think your subscribers could see more "movement" in your youtube account, and subsequently, in your webpage...

Is the only way I see to upload the episodes to youtube as a good idea...

Hey Danny, sorry for the delayed response.  I am actually on vacation this week.  Let me talk it over with John to see what he thinks.  Will let you know hopefully by Monday.

I think you should relese them like you have been. You have your own audiance and your bound to attract more (especially Spanish viewers) to the site. If it goes on the Retroware Youtube page then we could miss out on those extra viewers.

Ultimately it's up to John and Lance, but I like you having your own space. :)

Btw I loved the new epsiode, your show is so kick ass.  lol

Re: Should we post complete episodes in Youtube and others Forums?

you could always release it first on your site and here.

and after maybe a few months put it on RWTV's youtube page.....more coverage is never bad.
