| Samurai Shodown 5 Special Fatalties |
|
|
I'm a pretty big fan of Samurai Shodown so I just wanted to show off Samurai Shodown 5 Special (Last game on the Neo-Geo released in 2004) fatalities. Sure, its no MK fatalities but they still are pretty damn enertaining to watch... especially Galfords :]

Yes but some of them are very cool. Like Yoshitora for example (Guy with yellow outfit... a bunch of swords) He was designed by Noburito Watzuki... the Creator of Rurouni Kenshin or Samurai X |

like that girl....guy that looks exactly like Kenshin in Guilty Gears? ;)
I'm a HUGE Kenshin fan, I have like 3 different versions of Tsuiko Hen and I bought the official US season 1. planning to buy season 2 and the US OAV box but $89 and $59 = ouch :(
If i were to buy 1 Samurai Spirits game which would you recommend? also do the US import have crap dubbed voice or not? "Could this be...an omen??!" |

If you aren't willing to wait, I'd say to get VI, it's, in my opinion, the best game in the whole series. Not only are virtually ALL of the characters in the game, but you get to select from six different gameplay styles that represent each of the six games, so you can have the chain combos from IV vs. the weapon breaking supers from II and so forth. I was looking forward to the game when I heard about it, and it's lived up to all my expectations... except one. Sadly, they axed all of the No Contest/Fatalities from the game. It's hardly an issue when the gameplay is so good, but, uh, it made some people quite unhappy. If you are willing to wait a bit, SNKP is supposedly planning to localize SS Anthology, or whatever it was called, which is supposed to have all six of the main titles in it, but, it'll be a while before we get it.
EDIT: I have the Japanese version of the game, so, in regards to importing it, it has all of the Japanese voices and text, though some text is in English. There is an option to put the voices in English, but, all it seems to affect is the announcer. Hope that helps with your question. |

I have seen the game before yes... It does look good but the only thing that really bothers me is that I think that there are way too many characters in the game. I sometimes just think if it as a big turn off if there are way too many characters in a fighting game... since when will you use them all?? |

The truth of that is hard to argue with, but, the increased roster does bring back some characters that have been sorely missed throughout most of the series, Nicotine and Gen-An in particular for me. Gen-An has actually gotten worse since II though, but Nicotine, *whistles*, he can really tear shit up if you know what you're doing. His control-reversing tag lingers for a bit, which really helps more than it might sound, and he recovers about half-way through the animation for his attacking shadow thing. In the end, pretty much the only people I don't touch are Nakoruru, Galford, Iroha, and Earthquake. Sadly, though I do use them, I don't particularly care for any of the new characters introduced in this game, Yoshitora and Gaoh alone gave SSV the better new characters. Gaoh = The Man, though, I'd have to say that, excluding his "I walked through the Valley of the Shadow of Death and kicked Amborsia's ass" form, he's far and away the weakest of the four bosses. Enja also seems to be quite broken in this game, as he gets a full super bar from losing something like a tenth of his life bar, which, paired with the original SS bar, is all kinds of rape. Seriously. Zankuro gets his ass handed to him in straight punch-for-punch matches. X_X |

Quite honestly... I would go with II because there is such a nostalgic factor when playing this game. Also because it's got such an interesting fighting system. |

Yeah, but it's hard to find a decent version of II, I grabbed the SS I/II pack for the PS, and, it's alright, but it doesn't feel right. And there is slow down. X_x
From your past comments, I assume you have an AES, which means you've got a perfect version of the game. If I'm right, then, I envy you, I still have to wait for the collection to hit the PS2 before I can play the game in it's full glory... well, almost full glory. No arcade sticks. XD
EDIT: So, yeah, turns out, it's already out in Japan. XD
So, now, I just have to wait for PA to restock SvG, though, I'm getting a bit sick of waiting... hm... I may just opt to get LB 2-in-1 and SS:A and order SvG some other time. Kind of runs the fun of having three new fighters all at once though... |
