Pulseman

Hey guys, I'm here to tell ya'll about a game some of you may be familiar with, and I'm sure most of you are not.  It's a little game called Pulseman.

I first got my hands on this game when I was a kid.  It was available on SEGA Channel, even though the game wasn't in english.  However, it didn't have to be.  The main menus were all in English and almost every character in the game spoke...that's right, spoke.  Everyone who would speak, spoke in English.  It's a wonder this game didn't just come out in America.  In fact, here's about the only Japanese you'll see in the game:

It's a fairly unique platformer.  Think Mega Man meets Sonic meets Mario.  A REALLY cool combination.  The style is VERY unique, and the soundtrack is beyond awesome.  Here's a couple of screen shots to tickle your eyeballs:

Believe it or not, but those are two screenshots from two of the more BLAND stages, haha.  The game, especially visually, is EXTREMELY unique.  It's loads of fun, and can provide a fair challenge at times.  Most of the bosses are fairly epic as well.

Now you may be asking yourself...why is this guy telling us about a Japanese game he played on SEGA Channel back when he was a kid?  Well that's because it is now available on the Virtual Console and a MUST OWN for any retro gamer or SEGA Genesis fan.  The game is absolutely amazing, and even more fun now that I'm older and can handle the challenge.  While it is fairly easy by today's standards, it's a REALLY fun game and...as I said...a must own.  For $6 (either $6 or $8, I forget...either way it's worth $10!)  you can't go wrong.  Buy it NOW!

Re: Pulseman

Another fun fact is that this game is made by GameFreak, the same company that made all those Pokemon games you love so much.   lol

I wonder if they will release Mega Man the wily wars for the Genesis, which was another Sega Channel exclusive in the USA, to the virtual console. I think that would be nice since I'm sure most Americans that didn't have the Channel missed out on it, even though it was a compilation of the first three NES megaman games with updated graphics and sound.

Gamers outside the US(JP and the UK) had the game in retail. Lucky bastards. :P I'll bet that's collectors item right there.

Anyways, Pulse man sounds like a good game and I'll check it out when I have some points.

Yes sir, it's for the Genesis, and one of the best Genesis games in my opinion.  BIG shame it didn't come to America.  I'm telling you guys, especially those on the fence, GET THIS GAME!  You will NOT regret it.
